ALPINE COLLECTION
The Alpine Collection has been displayed from 1984, and it is placed within two rooms on the second floor of the Museum. This collection comprises original documents, photographs, books, magazines and items (and a lot of copies as well) concerning hiking and mountain climbing, and their origins in Croatia.
The bigger room showcases the historical development of mountain climbing in Croatia, and the other room, the smaller one, focuses on the contemporary achievements of Croatian climbers, and climbing peaks higher than 8000m above sea level.
The original showcase has been gradually expanded with newer pieces, and a great contribution to its development has been made by the climbers from the Ogulin Sports Climbing Club.
