MORTAR
The mortar was used by the border guards to report the Turkish threat. It only produces a bang without firing any ammunition.
The defenders of Ogulin were paid by Vojvodina Kranjska in cash for the first half of the year, and in cloth for the second half of the year.
From the report of the Archduke Karl II Francis of Austria of 30 August 1577, the state of defense for each place in Krajina is explained in full detail. For Ogulin, it was recorded that it had 2 cannons, 5 mortars, 31 rifles, 10 other guns and about 10 cents of gunpowder. Karl II Francis of Austria demanded to add 2 cannons with 6-pound grenades, 4 cannons with 3-pound balls and 500 rifles to Ogulin.
